Acing the College Board Exam
I. Prepare Strategically
Not all time periods are created equal! Start with eras that are most important to the exam and work your way to the least important. Also, College Board must represent each geographical location equally on the test, so don't spend your entire time reviewing one geographical location!
- Period 1................16-20%
- Period 2................24-30%
- Period 3................24-30%
- Period 4................24-30%
II. Know Your Learning Goals
No need to buy expensive review books! Many questions on the exam come straight from the Learning Goals. Recognizing the Learning Goals will help you recognize the correct answers.
III. Review Areas of Weakness
If you're feeling weak in an area, check your notes or textbook, attend a review session with me, check out Khan Academy and/or watch a few John Green videos. Vocabulary is also VERY important here! Check your Study Guides for understanding. Only YOU can remember content!
IV. Learn Your Turning Points
Knowing turning points will help keep your knowledge organized. Study the Quizlet and practice using the info to contextualize.
V. Understand Your Rubrics
