Units 5 and 6: Modern Era
1750-1900
After humanity navigates the Early Modern Era, we move into an age of political, economic and social restructuring. The Age of Enlightenment ushers in the desire for social and political reform coupled with an intense sense of nationalism. This combination will manifest itself as revolutions in the Old and New Worlds and, ultimately, result in a dynamic shift in global interaction and dominance. The discovery and exploitation of natural resources will spark the Industrial Revolution, prompting massive local and transnational migrations, altering the very fabric of human culture and entering us into the Modern World.
